baby quilt yes she's been working on it for months yes and brooklyn's about to see it for the first time right here oh my gosh it's so cute upstairs it looks so good mom holy crap she's having a contraction the tighter it goes and i contract the more i'm like some moms don't labor until like noon and then it's like we are heading they're heading to their first appointment okay so we are all here brooklyn and dakota just left for to meet with their midwife because her water broke but she's not progressing super quickly into labor her midwife wanted to meet with her and figure out like where she's at so they went to that appointment while they're gone the fam is gonna clean and do any last minute things that need to be done before they come brooklyn wanted to hang some she wanted to hang some hooks to hang like the baby i don't know what these are called baby wraps so we have six of them that's gonna help out hanging all six this way so that they're ready to go okay we got a wall going hooks are going in looks good good work okay hooks are in thanks to dad now we're now we're gonna have space to put their little baby wraps so we'll go put those in okay we just got back our midwife wanted to meet with us at one o'clock since my water broke obviously this morning and basically what she said was like everything looks great baby boy sounds great i look great she tested my fluid it is amniotic fluid so my water has been confirmed to have broken i could have told you that it was very dramatic it was very much like the movies a lot of water splashing on the ground but what she did say was that it's very normal it's i guess it happens in like one in ten women it's called like premature rupture of water basically where your water breaks before you start active labor um and so i'm just one in ten uh but basically she said it's not a huge concern just ideally you have started active labor by 48 hours after your water break so right now we're at like 12 hours and i'm having mild contractions but not like super active labor obviously she's like we're really not on a huge time clock i guess it's about 90 of women are in active labor by 48 hours after their water breaks so she's like i'm not worried about you your baby looks great she's like go home chill take your mind off of things let your body relax and do what it needs to do and you will have a baby in your arms in the next 72 hours okay they're back and the consensus is it's just a waiting game my body's just you know it's not i keep saying i said this on the way home but it's not like the movies it does not happen with the snap of a finger nope it is especially when you don't have medication to help speed things along pretty much just on the waiting game of your body doing things naturally and it's slow yeah so we are currently strategizing like okay are we just gonna play a game yeah now we really have to test our patience okay the instructions were to go home and chill so we are chilling playing a game until contractions step up so we're just trying to relax playing everdell i don't know if brooklyn would consider that you like this game but it's stressful yeah i'm like i freaking can't keep myself straight right now so we'll keep y'all updated tar over here's not going brooklyn's having contractions her belly's looking a little lopsided it's because his booty is right here and then i'm contracting on it so it's like lopsided it's not painful right now so i'm gonna roll with it dakota's ready to go to bed power nap okay update it is 545 um january 18th and is it progressing at all i'm literally getting a contraction right now you guys see so they're happening but not consistently happening right ish they're more frequent than they were this morning it's just crazy to me that this is a person that we're gonna get to meet that's like gonna be in our lives for the rest of our lives forever forever okay brooklyn and dakota came over to eat some dinner and contractions are getting a little bit more intense we're not like really timing them but they seem to be coming at pretty frequent intervals now which is usually a sign that it's like okay now you're in labor because there's some kind of consistency to it the intensity feels like a pretty bad period cramp okay we decided to have everyone guess
